Shylah Poirier received her Master of Education from Weber State University, and her endorsement from Utah State University. She has experience teaching and working with students and teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

“I believe that my best quality as an educator is that I have high expectations for all students,” she said. “It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what language you speak, what color your skin is, or what your struggle may be, you can learn! Some people learn in different ways, and that’s okay! The important thing is that if you believe that you can learn you will succeed!

Favorite Performance Character Traits: Optimism and Courage

“I feel that it is important to always stay positive and understand that there is good in everything that happens!” said Poirier. “If you stay positive, nothing can get you down! I also feel that courage is something that we all need to have in order to push through the hard times and stand up for what is right! If you don’t stand up for what is right, who will?
