About Ms. Howard
Ms. Howard worked in software and hardware sales for 15 years before deciding to earn her teaching degree to follow her passion and help fill the teacher shortage in North Carolina. What first began as a substitute teaching position for first grade led to 12 years of teaching kindergarten through second grade.
When asked about her best quality as an educator Howard said, “I look at learning and teaching as a sport. Practice, be alert, pay attention, and set goals to build skills are characteristics that I instill in my students. It’s just like catching the winning touchdown or kicking the ball into the goal.”

Q: What was your favorite childhood book?
