Summer is fast approaching, and the fall will bring new kindergarten students to Athlos Academy of Utah. Here are a few skills that kindergarten teachers recommend parents teach their children before the start of school:
- Tie shoes
- Put on jacket and pants
- Blow nose
- Buckle themselves in their car seat
- Know letter names
- Know letter sounds
- Count to ten
- Know basic shapes
- Know basic color
- Write their name
Parents should not worry if their child cannot accomplish every skill before the start of school. Every child develops on a different timeline and Athlos Academy teachers will help every child be successful in kindergarten.
