Our school will be participating in Red Ribbon Week Oct. 22nd – 26th. Red Ribbon Week is traditionally recognized nationwide as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Campaign. At Athlos we embrace our model of Healthy Body, Prepared Mind, and Performance Character to encourage all students to lead healthy lives. We would love for each student to participate in the daily activities and spirit days. Please see the schedule below. Due to our board policy, we will still be wearing uniforms during the week (except for noted below).
Monday theme – I Am Drug Free
- Spirit Day: Wear wacky socks
- Activities:
- Pledge to be drug free
- Assembly: Olympic Speed Skater Carlijn Schoutens
Tuesday theme – I Am Creative
- Spirit Day: Crazy hair day
- Activities:
- Coloring contest (due Thursday at noon)
- Family/Community Event at 6:30: Athlos Cares
Wednesday theme – I Am Curious
- Spirit Day: Hats or headbands
- Activities: Read-a-thon (may bring blankets and pillows)
Thursday theme – I Am Active
- Spirit Day: Inside out/backwards (must be in uniform)
- Activities: Active Activity in Athletics – all students will have athletics this day
Friday theme – Griffins are a Team
- Spirit Day: Wear favorite college or sports team shirt (must wear uniform bottoms)
- Activities:
- Middle school vs. teacher kickball game
- Family Night: Haunted Hallways
