About Jennie Ricks

Jennie Ricks educational journey included graduating as a Literature and Writing Undergrad from ASU, followed by earning her Masters in Creative Writing from Goddard College.

Throughout her professional journey, Jennie dedicated one year to being a full-time substitute teacher across all grades and later took up the role of teaching 6th graders for a period of 3 years at American Leadership Academy in Arizona.

Jennie exudes a deep passion for the subjects she teaches and wholeheartedly enjoys witnessing her students discovering their individual voices in the realm of writing; Her ultimate objective revolves around fostering an enjoyable learning experience and assisting students in cultivating a genuine affection for literature and writing.

The focus placed by Athlos Academy on cultivating character in both the staff and students deeply appeals to her, instilling an eagerness to forge connections with diverse learners while assisting them along their educational journey of exploring literature and enhancing writing skills.

Favorite Performance Character Trait:

GRIT

My favorite performance character has to be Grit because I believe those who succeed and move forward in life need Grit to persevere and get through the ups and downs.

  • I love golf
  • I have 4 kids and a 20-year-old cat
  • My youngest child is leaving for college this year
  • I love ghost stories and have written my own (currently working on getting that published!)
