Amanda Nelson

3RD GRADE ELA TEACHER

About Amanda Nelson

Having successfully completed her education at the University of Utah, Amanda Nelson emerged with a Bachelors degree focused on Elementary Education. Her career as an educator took off when she secured a role teaching fifth graders in Stansbury Park; however, later on, she decided to pursue working with second graders and moved to Hawthorn Academy.

After making the decision to transition from teaching 2nd grade to 3rd grade, she has dedicated herself to teaching 3rd graders for the past 5 years. This upcoming year will mark her 6th year as a 3rd grade teacher, and she says she loves to multiply and divide way too much to ever change grades!

Amanda dedicates herself to creating a caring, warm and inviting classroom setting where students not only thrive academically but also feel safe and loved. Her most commendable attribute as an educator lies in her talent for recognizing the potential within each student and sincerely having faith in their ability to learn.

Amanda’s attraction to the Athlos Model stemmed from her search for an educational institution that recognizes the importance of addressing a child’s complete being – socially, emotionally, and academically; she’s excited about teaching in a positive and welcoming atmosphere where we are all dedicated to empowering students to achieve their utmost potential within all three pillars.
