Enrollment Process

Thank you for your interest in Athlos Academy of Utah. We are a tuition-free, public charter school located in Herriman. We currently serve students in grades K-8 living in Herriman and the surrounding communities.



Apply for enrollment by completing the online application available here.


All applicants are entered into a lottery. Enrollment offers or notification of waitlist are sent via email.


Confirm your student’s intent to attend by accepting or declining the offer.


Complete your student’s registration and other paperwork by the deadline to keep your student’s seat.

The Process in More Detail

Step 1: Apply

Athlos Academy holds an annual open enrollment period every year. Submitting an application makes your student eligible for a seat according to the school’s policy and state law; it does not guarantee your student a seat.

Apply for the current 2018-2019 school year:
  • We are accepting applications for the current school year.
  • Our lottery for the 2018-2019 school year was held on February 20, 2018.
  • When you submit an application after the lottery has taken place, you will be offered a seat on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Submit an application online and check your email for an offer or wait list notification.
Apply for 2018-2019 School Year
Apply for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year:
  • The open enrollment period for the 2019-2020 school year will open January 2019. For the best chance of enrollment, be sure to submit your student’s application before enrollment period ends.
  • If there are more applications than available seats, a lottery will be held between February 20th and March 1st, 2019. More information will be available as that time period approaches.
  • If you submit your application after the enrollment period ends, your student will be offered a seat on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Step 2: Lottery

Athos Academy of Utah is held accountable to all state enrollment laws. According to the school’s enrollment policy, all applications for enrollment will be subject to a lottery admissions process (See Student Policy 5102 for more information).

(2018-2019 School Year)

The lottery has passed for the 2018-2019 school year. Students applying during the school year skip the lottery process.

(2019-2020 School Year)

If there are more applicants during the enrollment period than available seats, all applicants are entered into a lottery. A lottery will be held between February 20 and March 1, 2019.

  • We will begin sending lottery notifications to families shortly after the lottery takes place. You will either receive an offer letter or a notification of wait list number. Watch your email closely so you do not miss a notification.

Step3: Confirm

(2018-2019 School Year)

If you receive an enrollment offer, you will be given a date when you must accept or decline your offer by before it expires.

(2019-20 School Year)

If you receive an offer of enrollment, you have two business days to accept it before it is no longer valid. Keep an eye out for email notifications regarding this important deadline. Reminders will be shared on the school’s Facebook page.

Step 4: Register

After you accept your offer, these is still another step to assure your child’s seat is secured. In order for your student to be fully enrolled, you must fill out the online registration form sent in your offer email and turn in all registration paperwork. There are 3 ways to turn in a registration packet:

  1. In person: Check the school’s office hours.
  2. At a school event: Check the calendar for an event taking place before the deadline.
  3. Email/Mail: Send your registration paperwork to registrar@athlosutah.org or mail paper copies to the school.
