On February 21, Chris Opie, president of Herriman Football visited with the students of Athlos Academy.
He shared with the students a message of kindness and respect. He told the students that learning how to show empathy for others, how to be humble, and how to be kind will not only help them navigate social pressures successfully, but will make a lasting impression on friends and classmates for years to come.
His anti-bullying message was well received as he encouraged students to share thoughts and ideas of how to be a kinder student body. As a reward for participating, Chris brought Herriman Football jerseys and handed them to the brave participants.
For the teachers and staff, it was reassuring to hear Chris talk about the no tolerance bullying policy in place in Herriman Youth Football. Chris explained to the children that there is no place for bullying in sports and that we need to be positive with the other players on our teams and with those with whom we play at recess.
Chris’s final message was about getting active.
We want to thank Chris Opie for coming out and wish him all the best!
