Seeking Governing Board Candidates

The Athlos Academy of Utah governing board is preparing for the annual election and looking for individuals interested in serving on the governing board.

Athlos Academy of Utah is governed by a dedicated group of individuals comprised of parents, teachers, and community members. The primary role of governing board members is to:

  • Promote public understanding of the school’s mission
  • Develop a framework for setting goals and developing strategic plans for accomplishing those goals
  • Provide financial, academic, and governance oversight

There are a variety of different roles on the board that will be available, and all are welcome to apply.

Please submit an application form if you are interested in serving.

Please review the description of the roles and responsibilities. The window for submitting applications is now open and runs through June 17, 2019. Please submit a completed application and resume to info@athlosutah.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 17, 2019.

Elections will be held at the board meeting on June 19, 2019. The new board members will be announced that evening. The newly elected members will be invited to shadow the currently seated members during the July board meeting and then will be seated at the meeting in August.

Board members should expect to contribute 5–10 hours of time per month, including serving on a committee of the board. Board service meets the suggested 30 volunteer hours for parents.

Questions about the governing board positions may be directed to school governance coordinator, Jill Turgeon, at jturgeon@athlosacademies.org. We appreciate your consideration of this request and all you do to make Athlos Academy a success!

Sincerely,
Athlos Academy Governing Board
